Les Phillips - District Superintendent

Les is the District Superintendent of the Gauteng District of the Church of the Nazarene in South Africa.

He was chosen for this office in January 2011 at the 16 th District Assembly. His predecessors were Rev Rudi Booyens and Rev Bethual Mkhonde. Les is married to Jocelyn for 31 years. They are blessed with three sons (Michael, Stephen and Jonathan) and one daughter (Jolese) who is married to Justin. They have two granddaughters, Allyssa and Allynah.

They have been pastoring various churches. Their last assignment before accepting the DS role was pastoring the Church of the Nazarene in Eldorado Park. Throughout his ministry, Joycelyn has been and is actively involved. Her experience in Youth work and women's ministries has enhanced their effectiveness in ministry. She holds a Diploma in Ministry through Johannesburg Bible Institute (JBI).

His experience includes various leadership roles in education, business and the church.

His educational exploits include:

•  Universiy of Manchester (UK) - Train the trainer (Full time) ,

•  University of Strathclyde (UK) - MBA (Full time),

•  Unisa: B Compt (Hons) , B Th , B Com ,

•  University of the Western Cape: HED (Higher Education Diploma)

His philosophy in life is that we are called to serve and that God loves and died for all of humankind.
